Terms of Service

The agreement between you and DoctoPod. Written to be read, not skimmed past.

Last updated: 23 September 2026 Effective: 23 September 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and DoctoPod ("we", "us").

By creating an account or using the app you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use DoctoPod.

You must be at least 16 years old to use DoctoPod.

2. What DoctoPod does

DoctoPod takes documents you provide, analyses them, and produces a written briefing and an audio version you can listen to. It can also answer questions about those documents and prepare you for a meeting based on them.

DoctoPod is a reading and preparation aid. It is not legal, financial, medical, tax or professional advice of any kind, and it does not replace reading a document you are responsible for.

3. Your account

  • You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.
  • Give accurate information when you register, and keep it current.
  • One account is for one person. Do not share your credentials.
  • If you believe your account has been compromised, change your sign-in credentials with your provider immediately and delete the account if you cannot regain control.

4. Your content

You keep ownership

The documents you import remain yours. We claim no ownership of them, and no ownership of the briefings, transcripts or audio generated from them. Those outputs are yours to use.

The permission you give us

To provide the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, copy, transmit and process your content solely in order to operate DoctoPod for you — reading the document, producing the briefing, generating the audio and answering your questions. This licence exists only to run the service, ends when you delete the content or your account, and covers nothing else.

We do not sell your content or share it for advertising.

You confirm you are allowed to upload it

By importing a document you confirm you have the right to do so, and that doing so does not breach copyright, confidentiality, an NDA, or your employer's policies. You are responsible for that judgement — we cannot make it for you.

5. Subscriptions and billing

DoctoPod is free to use with limits. Premium unlocks realistic studio voices, longer Deep Dives, offline downloads, combining several documents and higher usage limits.

Prices and plans

Premium is offered as a recurring subscription in weekly, monthly and yearly terms. The price, currency and any introductory or free-trial offer are shown to you in the app and on the App Store or Google Play before you confirm the purchase. Prices vary by country and may change; the price presented at the point of purchase is the one that applies.

Payment and renewal

  • Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
  • If a free trial is offered and you subscribe during it, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.

Cancelling

Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings — not in the DoctoPod app, as we cannot cancel a store subscription for you. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds and your right of withdrawal

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, so a refund request must go to the store that took the payment.

If you are a consumer in the EU you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. By starting to use Premium immediately you ask us to begin the service during that period and acknowledge that you lose that right once the service has been fully performed. This does not affect your statutory rights where they cannot be waived.

6. Free plan and limits

Both plans carry monthly limits on documents, briefings, audio generation, audio minutes and questions, and limits on document length and how many documents you can combine. The current limits are shown in the app; we may adjust them, and will not reduce them for an active paid period in a way that removes what you paid for.

Fair use applies. Automated, bulk or abusive consumption may be rate-limited or suspended.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • Upload content you have no right to use, or that is unlawful
  • Use DoctoPod to break the law, infringe rights, or harm others
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our source code or prompts
  • Resell, sublicense or provide DoctoPod as a service to others
  • Circumvent plan limits, paywalls, rate limits or authentication
  • Scrape or bulk-download the service, or use it to build a competing product
  • Upload malware, or interfere with the service's operation or security

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section.

8. AI output and its limits

This section matters. Please read it.

Briefings, transcripts, answers and meeting prep are produced by automated AI systems. They can be incomplete, misleading or wrong. They may misread a figure, miss a clause, or state something with confidence that the document does not support.

  • Always check anything that carries consequence against the source document. Every insight includes a source reference so you can do exactly that.
  • Do not rely on a briefing alone to sign a contract, accept financial terms, meet a deadline or make a professional decision.
  • Nothing DoctoPod produces is legal, financial, medical or tax advice.
  • Audio length targets are approximate, and voices are synthetic.

You remain responsible for decisions you make after using DoctoPod.

9. Our intellectual property

The DoctoPod app, website, name, logo, design and underlying software are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app. They transfer no ownership to you.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep DoctoPod available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages and failures happen. We may add, change or remove features, and may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use DoctoPod after that means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Ending the agreement

You may stop at any time by deleting your account in Profile → Delete account. That permanently deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not itself cancel a store subscription — cancel that in the App Store or Google Play.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice first.

12. Disclaimers and liability

DoctoPod is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of output.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profits, business or data, or for any decision you make in reliance on a briefing. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to DoctoPod is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

13. Disputes

If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.

We would much rather resolve a problem than argue about it. If something has gone wrong, raise it with us first and we will try to put it right.

14. More information

Our Support page covers how DoctoPod handles your documents, how subscriptions and cancellations work, and what to do when something goes wrong. How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy.
